We at Journey Montessori have worked hard to adapt our learning environment space to be more geared towards teaching not only neurotypical children but that of neurodiverse children as well. We have a unique understanding that all children learn in different ways; and that it is imperative that a learning environment have tools and equipment available to foster all styles of learning.
This means that we have focused on areas such as lighting, colours of paint and equipment. Furthermore to this having a dedicated sensory space with bouncing balls, sand and all elements available for our sensory seekers to engage in; especially on those difficult days.
Journey Montessori is the perfect home away from home environment that has taken the Montessori approach of teaching to the next level, and ensuring that the environments are not just calming and appealing to the eye, but that every Matt, table, chair and much more have been specifically selected and placed in the environment to foster the teaching of a holistic sensory experience for each and every child.
